How to Remove Text or Watermark from Images (Online)

When we handle images, sometimes we need to remove text from them, possibly to fix errors, protect privacy, or meet other needs.

However, traditional image editing tools often have high access and usage thresholds, leaving noticeable traces or unnatural effects when removing text. To solve this problem, we can use the online tool PhoText to remove text from images.

In this tutorial, I will introduce how to use PhoText to remove text from images.

Step 1: Visit the PhoText Website

First, open your browser and visit the official website of PhoText (https://photext.com/). PhoText is a powerful online image text editing tool that can help us remove text from images without damaging the original image quality.

Step 2: Upload Image

On the homepage of PhoText, you will see an "Upload Image" button. Click this button, choose the image from which you want to remove text, and upload it. PhoText supports several common image formats, such as JPEG, PNG, etc.

Step 3: Select Target Text

Once your image is successfully uploaded, you will be taken to the editor.

Click on the text in the image on the canvas to activate the corresponding text editing panel. Here we use the brand name "JUHI" in the top left of the image as an example. Click the text to enter the editing mode:

Step 4: Remove Text

In the editing panel, you simply need to:

  1. Select an appropriate background image. Several background images generated by different algorithms and AI-generated backgrounds are provided. Choose the one that best suits your needs;

  2. Set the color to transparent, or clear the text content;

Method 2: Using the Removal Feature

Sometimes the text is stylized or in other complex scenarios, where the text may not be removed perfectly. For example, there are two small lines above the text "JUHI". In such cases, you can use the "Removal" feature provided by PhoText to easily remove the original text or other objects from the image.

Click "Removal" on the left side of the editor to enter the Removal interface:

Select the text area you want to remove. For this example image, drag to select the area.

This will generate multiple removal effects; choose the most suitable one:

Export the result:
